There’ve been so many things said about me in my lifetime that rumors and gossip don’t even really phase me. I had to clear up some things a few months ago about my health so I wanted to do a blog about diabetes and how serious this disease is.

I was diagnosed back in 2001 and it was crazy when I first found out. I was doing a lot of urinating, having to go to the bathroom like every 20 minutes. I remember one night laying in bed and it was like I was having an out-of-body experience; I could see myself sleeping.

When I first went to the hospital, the doctors said I was supposed to, like, be in a coma because my blood sugar was over 1600. They couldn’t believe it was that high, saying most people would either be dead or in a coma. It seemed like I could barely walk, like I weighed 300 pounds.

All this had gone on for about a week before I went to the hospital. When they checked me in, that’s when they found out I was diabetic. I didn’t take it seriously at first. It took me having to go to the hospital 2 or 3 times before it really sunk in. I was in denial. (More)

Mi madre is a diabetic for a year now and I HATE IT. It must suck to not be able to eat what she wants when she wants, and to monitor her blood sugar levels consistently. But she's handled it pretty well. I'm proud.

T.I. says the only reason Shawty Lo is saying his name now is because he's trying to take advantage of how T.I. can't beef anymore and get into all the extra battling stuff because of his case... Then he starts cracking up when Sway asks him if Shawty Lo is competition...

I think obviously since T.I. isn't responding how Shawty Lo would want, L-O might as well move on because TIP isn't addressing anybody that's insignificant.

On a recent interview with Bankhead he asked for someone to show T.I's HS pic to prove. Well One of our readers who explained they would like to be remained anonymous sent us T.I's high school photo. This is a response to Shawty Lo's video statement on the reward for T.I's high school photo. The anonymous sender explained this "T.I's high school is in Riverdale in Clayton County, (Outskirts Of ATL). It is not close to Bankhead at all this place where you would probably want to move to get away from the trap. Bankhead is westside the city clayton county (southside) is where riverdale is it is 30 or more mile away from the city of Atlanta". Regardless of all this we are still huge fans from both camps. Shawty Lo Doesn't Have AIDS, New Video: Shawty Lo - Dunn Dunn / Foolish

There's been crazy rumors about Shawty Lo having "The Monster" aka AIDS/HIV, and I'm very happy to tell you he does not.

Official statement from Shawty Lo's rep:

After much public speculation and most of it untrue, it became apparent to publicly state that Carlos ‘Shawty Lo’ Walker is not infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. He does however suffer from Diabetes, a serious condition that affects millions of people, particularly those of color. Despite occasional set backs, Shawty Lo continues his rigorous work schedule in support of his debut album Units In The City. He appreciates the outpouring of concern and support for his health but he is doing fine.

Good thing! I was hearing his face was peelin off, he couldn't shoot videos without having massive diarrhea, all types of rumors!
